Create and edit documents in this office suite

One of Microsoft's most formidable competitors, OpenOffice has offered for years a free alternative to Microsoft's document editors.

However, after Oracle took control of OpenOffice, the project's developer community decided to stop contributing, and created a new development branch called LibreOffice, which is the natural successor to OpenOffice.

LibreOffice offers everything OpenOffice offers: word processor, spreadsheet editor, presentation software, graphics editor, database editor and equation editor.

All of these tools can replace major Office tools like Word or Excel.

LibreOffice will appear in most GNU / Linux distributions and aims to become a free software model in the world of business and offices.
