A spectacular 3D planetarium

Stellarium is a 3D open source planetarium, available for all three major operating systems, where you can observe the night sky as if you were looking through a telescope.

You control the program using your mouse or the toolbar. You will see the positions and names of the planets, nebulae, constellations and stars that appear in your sky.

You can set it to display a certain time of day and even simulate eclipses. You will also have the ability to take screenshots and video recordings of your interstellar travels to show off to your friends and family.

All this makes Stellarium a very intriguing astronomy application.
